Choose a recent local
crime/punishment news story this week (chicago, illinois). Determine different possible positions
on the story, and then unpack these to consider possible common interests
underlying these positions. Using the readings for this week and your own
thoughts (critiques and/or support) based on some key points in these readings,
write a letter to the editor of the paper using the above tasks in response to
the story.
