Each student will assume the role of an industry advocate or lobbyist or the role of a political advisor to an elected official. The assignment is to take a rather narrow subject (most likely discussed in class) and pick a position on the subject (preferably a minority or currently unpopular position). You then write a policy paper advocating for that position, using the tools of economic analysis. Your grade depends mainly on your appropriate use of economic analysis. Each paper should be 8-10 typewritten pages long. All papers must be typed, properly formatted and use correct grammar.
*My teacher is a liberal and gives better grades to students who agree with him politically, so please include liberal sentiments in the essay. For example, lowering income taxes woulc benefit disadvantaged minority communities and help them relieve financial burden.
