Introduction

Health Care Challenge
§ As
the delivery of health care continues its evolution, it is becoming clear that
interdisciplinary care teams are essential. The HRM professional must be able
to work with these teams to prevent and correct a variety of issues, including
conflict, that can interrupt effective, efficient patient care.
§ The
question for HRM, is how do we cultivate a culture that supports high quality,
performance, and engagement across disciplines in health care organizations?
For answers, we look to models and best practices and adapt them to fit our
needs.
§ In
this assessment, you will assume that the training needs analysis has been
conducted and that the training is being prepared for health care professionals
with no experience as a member of an interdisciplinary care team. You are to
prepare a training plan for educating employees and team leaders about best
practices for interdisciplinary care teams. We know that health care is data
driven, so it will be important to begin with information you’ve gathered about
the connection between organizational culture and patient care.
