Barnes, Michael. “Tin the Presence of Mystery: An Introduction to the Story of
Human Religiousness” Twenty-third Publications Second printing of revised 2003 edition 2009.
In chapter 7 the author describes 3 beliefs about the soul’s immaterial existence.
One of then is Hindu/Buddhist
In 6 sentences, explain why your belief is the true belief about the existence of the soul. Be sure to cite 2 reliable sources.
Then, respond this example that is another beliefs about the soul’s immaterial existence. It is “Christianity”. Respond in 3 sentences using a source–this is not about opinions!
Example: “Christianity is the true belief about the existence of the soul mainly because of Jesus Christ. While Jesus Christ was a Prophet of God, he also claimed to be his only son, which he proved by making miracles happen before people’s eyes. As Christians, we can say that Jesus was not lying because of his resurrection following his death, which only God has the power to do, why would God raise Jesus if he was telling lies about God? Jesus said he was the only way to God the Father, through Jesus is how the soul reaches the ultimate paradise. “Buddha didn’t rise from the dead, nor did Confucius or Zoroaster. Muhammad didn’t fulfill any detailed prophecies. Alexander the Great didn’t raise the dead or heal the sick” (Slick). When comparing Jesus to the leaders of other religions there are major differences that can not be explained regarding what Jesus was able to do and what others were not. “… a person does not have to become a mystic in order ot acheive final salvation” (Barnes 145). By not needing to become a mystic, it proves that the Christian beliefs of the soul are inclusive to most showing that Christianity is the tru belief of the soul for all.

Your introduction should gain the interest of your reader and reveal the importance of the text you have studied. The final sentence of your first or second paragraph should state the thesis, or main argument, that you are arguing throughout your paper. For this paper, your thesis answers the question, “How should Romans 1:16–17 shape the mission of the church today?” The rest of your paper must support your answer to this question. Your paper will begin with a brief overview of the historical and literary setting of Romans 1:16–17. You will then use the framework of call, equip, and encourage to contextualize Romans 1:16–17 to the mission of the church today.

Here are two resources given by a professor that I recommend using:

I have custom instructions and have attached them please read them before sending a message that you have read and understand the instructions. (this statement is not true in most cases, let’s just be honest)
If you are unable or unwilling to follow these instructions please let’s not waste each other’s time.
This paper is religious based, so again if you are not religious, then this paper is not for you at this time.
I would love to see the beginning of the paper and have placed the Bibilography sketch prior to the paper, so I can review, and ask or request changes before you spend your time on the paper.
