Stakeholder Profile

I am covering Emergency Management policy. It should be noted that Emergency Management includes four phases: mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery. Internal and external stakeholders play various roles in each phase of Emergency Management. I will discuss each phase in further detail and identify the stakeholders in each phase.
The (n.d.). website defines the mitigation phase as actions taken to prevent or reduce the cause, impact, and consequences of disasters. The website goes on to provide examples of mitigation: constructing levees or permanent barriers to control flooding or buying insurance policies. Stakeholders in this phase include the local emergency management, citizens and the media. The local media shares information of things being done in the community to keep citizens informed of mitigation activities. Citizens that live in areas prone to natural disasters purchase the required insurance to protect themselves and their property.
The (n.d.). website defines the preparedness stage as planning, training, and educational activities for events that cannot be mitigated. Examples include developing disaster preparedness plans for what to do, where to go, or who to call for help in a disaster or exercising plans through drills, tabletop exercises, and full-scale exercises. The stakeholders involved in this phase is the local emergency manager, state emergency manager, citizens, and the media.
The (n.d.) website defines the response phase as occurring in immediate aftermath of a disaster. During the response phase, businesses and other operations do not function normally. Personal safety and well-being in an emergency and the duration of the response phase depend on the level of preparedness. Examples include implementing disaster response plans, conducting search and rescue missions, taking actions to protect yourself, your family, your animals, and others. Stakeholders in this phase are first responders, local emergency manager, state emergency management, federal emergency management (depending on the severity of the disaster), citizens (disaster victims), local business owners, local and national media, and the red cross.
The last phase is the recovery phase. The (n.d.) website defines this stage as restoration efforts occurring concurrently with regular operations and activities. The recovery period from a disaster can be prolonged. Examples include preventing or reducing stress-related illnesses and excessive financial burdens or rebuilding damaged structures. Stakeholders involved in this phase are citizens (disaster victims), local business owners, local emergency manager, state emergency management, federal emergency management, media, and the red cross.
In your responses to your group members, provide feedback on their stakeholder profiles.
• Have they included the full range of stakeholders for this policy?
• Are there any additional stakeholders that should be considered?
• Is there anything you would add about how stakeholders are included in or impacted by the decision-making process for this particular policy?
For your response posts, you must do the following:
Refer to the discussion prompt for response requirements.
Write a post of one to three paragraphs.
Demonstrate more depth and thought than simply stating “I agree” or “You are wrong.”
Consider content from other parts of the course where appropriate. Use proper citation methods for your discipline when referencing scholarly or popular sources.

01___Discussion Posts for Module I: Restaurant versus Homemade — Pick a Dish (April 4th to April 9th))
I think we all know someone who can make our favorite dish or meal better than any restaurant on Earth.
Pick a dish that fits this situation. What have you had at home or at someone’s dining table that simply puts the restaurant to shame.
Be sure to set some criteria for your analysis (for instance taste, texture, aroma, moisture, flavor, spice). Try to find some support for your choice (a bad Yelp review for the very dish you are critiquing; a quote from your cousin who says, “We should eat Grandma’s _________ for the rest of our lives”).
This Discussion will be open from April 4th to April 9th. Please make your initial post by Thursday, April 7, 2022 no later than 11:59 pm and post your responses to at least two colleagues no later than Saturday, April 9, 2022.

Resources: Pastas R Us, Inc. Database & Microsoft Excel®, Wk 1: Descriptive Statistics Analysis Assignment
This assignment is intended to help you learn how to apply statistical methods when analyzing operational data, evaluating the performance of current marketing strategies, and recommending actionable business decisions. This is an opportunity to build critical-thinking and problem-solving skills within the context of data analysis and interpretation. You’ll gain a first-hand understanding of how data analytics supports decision-making and adds value to an organization.
Pastas R Us, Inc. is a fast-casual restaurant chain specializing in noodle-based dishes, soups, and salads. Since its inception, the business development team has favored opening new restaurants in areas (within a 3-mile radius) that satisfy the following demographic conditions:
Median age between 25 – 45 years old
Household median income above national average
At least 15% college educated adult population
Last year, the marketing department rolled out a Loyalty Card strategy to increase sales. Under this program, customers present their Loyalty Card when paying for their orders and receive some free food after making 10 purchases.
The company has collected data from its 74 restaurants to track important variables such as average sales per customer, year-on-year sales growth, sales per sq. ft., Loyalty Card usage as a percentage of sales, and others. A key metric of financial performance in the restaurant industry is annual sales per sq. ft. For example, if a 1200 sq. ft. restaurant recorded $2 million in sales last year, then it sold $1,667 per sq. ft.
Executive management wants to know whether the current expansion criteria can be improved. They want to evaluate the effectiveness of the Loyalty Card marketing strategy and identify feasible, actionable opportunities for improvement. As a member of the analytics department, you’ve been assigned the responsibility of conducting a thorough statistical analysis of the company’s available database to answer executive management’s questions.
Write a 750-word statistical report that includes the following sections:
Section 1: Scope and descriptive statistics
Section 2: Analysis
Section 3: Recommendations and Implementation
Section 1 – Scope and descriptive statistics
State the report’s objective.
Discuss the nature of the current database. What variables were analyzed?
Summarize your descriptive statistics findings from Excel. Use a table and insert appropriate graphs.
Section 2 – Analysis
Using Excel, create scatter plots and display the regression equations for the following pairs of variables:
“BachDeg%” versus “Sales/SqFt”
“MedIncome” versus “Sales/SqFt”
“MedAge” versus “Sales/SqFt”
“LoyaltyCard(%)” versus “SalesGrowth(%)”
In your report, include the scatter plots. For each scatter plot, designate the type of relationship observed (increasing/positive, decreasing/negative, or no relationship) and determine what you can conclude from these relationships.
Section 3: Recommendations and implementation
Based on your findings above, assess which expansion criteria seem to be more effective. Could any expansion criterion be changed or eliminated? If so, which one and why?
Based on your findings above, does it appear as if the Loyalty Card is positively correlated with sales growth? Would you recommend changing this marketing strategy?
Based on your previous findings, recommend marketing positioning that targets a specific demographic. (Hint: Are younger people patronizing the restaurants more than older people?)
Indicate what information should be collected to track and evaluate the effectiveness of your recommendations. How can this data be collected? (Hint: Would you use survey/samples or census?)
Cite references to support your assignment.
Format your citations according to APA guidelines.

One of the most important elements in a business plan is the market analysis. A market analysis is a qualitative and quantitative assessment of a market. It includes data collection and estimation in reference to the market size and value, characteristics of the intended customer base, in-depth evaluation of the competition, barriers to entry, and the regulatory environment. An accurate and detailed market analysis allows entrepreneurs to determine whether the market is sufficiently large to build a sustainable, profitable business. In this assignment, you will complete a market analysis for your proposed organization and create a report that can be included within a business plan.
Write a 525-word report that includes the following sections:
Section 1: Business overview, mission, and vision
Section 2: A Market analysis that includes the following components:
Section 3: Recommendation
Use the Market Analysis Research document for details on what to include in each section.
Cite references to support your assignment.
Format your citations according to APA guidelines.

This week you will look at misleading information that you are exposed to every day.  Find an example of a survey or poll or even a tweet that you think might be misleading.
How would you support your conclusions? You want to use statistical reasoning here not personal opinion. Places to look might be online polls where anyone can answer.  If the title of a survey is misleading, how would you correct it?
Was the sample representative?  Be sure to read the methodology of a survey and not only the responses to the questions.  For example, you may think the sampling was not representative of the population, but you have to discuss how sampling was actually done to support your claim.
Another place to look are articles written by people who clearly don’t understand statistics but use legitimate data like the example below.
The title of the article, New Low of 49% in U.S. Say Death Penalty Applied Fairly  ( (Links to an external site.)), is misleading because 49% is the point estimate.  You have to click on survey methods at the bottom to find the margin of error was 4%.  This means the true percentage in the population could have been as low as 45% but as high as 53%. Therefore the title of the article is very misleading.
After locating your inaccurate poll or article, respond to the following questions.
How did the poll or article misrepresent the facts? How might you rewrite the title of the article more accurately?
What was the author trying to get you to think? Why?  What could be the ramifications of believing false information?
Find and describe an article that refutes this information, if possible.
Have you ever been sent articles that you believed just by reading the title? What was the result?
Please be sure to validate your opinions and ideas with citations and references in APA format.
