Note

that you are asked to use a graphing utility in this assignment. A recommended

online utility is https://www.desmos.com/calculator (Links to an external site.). It allows

graphing and then copying and posting into a Word document.

Using

a graphing utility, draw a scatter diagram with price as a function of

demand.

Using

a graphing utility, build a logarithmic model from the data.

Graph

the logarithmic function in the scatter diagram.

Use

the function you found above to predict the number of quantities that will

be demanded if the price is $1750.

Use

the function you found in #2 to predict the price, if the quantity

demanded is 174.

Requirements:

1. Your

paper should be 3 pages (not counting the title page and references

page) and cite and integrate at least one credible source.

2. Include a title page, introduction, body, conclusion, and a reference

page. The

introduction should describe or summarize the topic or problem. It might

discuss the general applications of the topic or it might introduce the unique

terminology associated with the topic. The

body of your paper should address the questions posed in the problem. Explain

how you approached and answered the question or solved the problem, and, for

each question, show all steps involved. Be sure this is in paragraph format,

not numbered answers like a homework assignment. The

conclusion should summarize your thoughts about what you have determined from

your analysis in completing the assignment. Nothing new should be introduced in

the conclusion that was not previously discussed in the body paragraphs.

3. Include

any tables of data or calculations, calculated values, and/or graphs

referenced in the paper.

4. Document

formatting, citations, and style should conform to the APA 7th edition.

Employ It!

Do some research on the internet about ‘using rational expressions in everyday life.’ Find at least three examples of applied problems that involve simplifying, multiplying and dividing rational expressions, and describe in detail how these problems relate to your chosen career. What insights do you gain about your chosen field now that you see some of the inner mathematical models that are used?

My chosen career is Medical Billing and Coding

Complete discussion prompt:

A common error is to write LaTeX: x^3•x^2=x^6 ; another is to write LaTeX:(x^3)^2=x^5 .

1) Give an intuitive explanation that shows how we can understand the correct answer to each of LaTeX: x^3cdot x^2 andLaTeX: left(x^3right)^2 .

2) Based on this intuition, write the general rules to follow to solve each problem if the exponents 3, 2 were replaced by n,m.

3) Produce a single statement that has exponents which require simplification using each of these exponent rules.

## In the quadratic formula, the terms b^2-4ac underneath the radical have a special name: the discriminant .

The solutions of the quadratic equation Ax^2+Bx+C=0 are called roots and are given by a famous equation called the Quadratic Formula . In the quadratic formula, the terms B^2-4AC underneath the radical have a special name: the Discriminant .

Discuss the relationship between the discriminant of a quadratic polynomial and the quantity of real roots it possesses. Explain the positioning of the roots of the polynomial on its graph with respect to the discriminant and the sign of the discriminant.

## Digital music distribution provides an opportunity for everyone to get their mus

Digital music distribution provides an opportunity for everyone to get their music heard. In order to get on a service like iTunes, one needs to pay for distribution through a service like Tunecore or CD Baby. These services make sure that your music is heard on different platforms. One of the most important streaming services is SPOTIFY.

Suppose the distributor charges the artist a $50.00 cost for distribution, and the streaming services pay $5.00 per unit. (Note: One unit = one thousand streams)

Model the profit for the total number of streams by answering the questions below:

1. Use the cost for distribution to build the y-intercept. What is the y-intercept?

(Hint: the y-intercept is a point on the y axis, so the answer should be an ordered pair (x,y). Keep in mind that money is being spent, and therefore must be deducted from the profit. If the y-intercept is incorrect, all related numbers will be incorrect.)

2. Use the payment per unit to build the slope. What is the slope?

3. Use the slope-intercept format (y=mx+b) to give the equation of the line. What is the equation of this line?

4. Graph the line by adjusting the sliders below. Show the line by attaching an image of the graph below. (Hint: take a screenshot and upload it as an image.)

Use the equation from question 3 to answer questions 5−7. (Hint: Remember one unit = one thousand streams.)

5. After how many streams will the distributor charges be paid? (Hint: this is where the line crosses the x-axis. This is the break-even point.)

6. How many streams would it take to profit $950,000?

7. According to new research in 2021, Puerto Rican Reggaeton star Bad Bunny again took the title of most-streamed artist in the world on Spotify. He received over 9.1 billion streams (9,100,000,000)without releasing a new album last year.

Use this number of streams with your equation to calculate how much money Bad Bunny may have made via Spotify. (Worlds Most Streamed Songs (Spotify), 2021)

Fun Facts:

Bad Bunny is followed by singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, whose “Red” (Taylor’s Version) gave old and new fans alike a reason to relive the artist’s early groundbreaking work. Rounding up 2021’s top three is BTS. The globally beloved K-pop group had a standout year thanks to their single “Butter.”

Canadian hip-hop artists Drake—who released Certified Lover Boy in September—and Justin Bieber—whose 2021 album Justice featured collaborations with artists from across the globe—take spots four and five, respectively.
